· The GleanerTwo policemen, who were charged two years ago with a 2008 murder, are to stand trial on October 6, 2025.
Their trial date was confirmed on Thursday, during an appearance in the St Catherine Circuit Court.
The accused are Sergeant Gurvin Leachman of the St Catherine North division and Constable Dane Hylton of the St Thomas division.
They are being prosecuted for the murder of Jevani Robinson, a resident of Job Lane in Spanish Town.
The presiding judge, Justice Yvonne Brown, said the case has lingered in the court system for an extended period, describing it as an "old" matter.

The incident occurred on September 22, 2008, when a police team on patrol in Job Lane reportedly engaged in a confrontation with Robinson.
He was shot and injured during the encounter, and an illegal firearm was allegedly seized. Robinson was taken to the Spanish Town Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Following an investigation, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions ruled in April 2022 that the officers should be charged with murder.
The cops have appeared in court multiple times since the ruling.
