Repairs to Trelawny Municipal Corporation building estimated at over $100M

· The Gleaner

Repairs to the Trelawny Municipal Corporation building in Falmouth have been estimated at over $100 million.

This was disclosed by the corporation's Chief Executive Officer Winston Palmer who told The Gleaner that work on the building has been put out to tender.

“Hence my withholding of the exact estimated figure for the repair and refurbishing," said Palmer.

Last March, the ceiling of the section of the building that housed the parish court collapsed, forcing matters to be moved to the Duncans and Clark's Town courthouses.

"The termites which have destroyed the board work on the upstairs have caused us to hasten the plans," Palmer said.
