Firefighters still battling inferno at Azan’s warehouse

Firefighters are still trying to contain a massive blaze that has left millions of dollars worth of damage at the Azan's Supercentre warehouse and Pure Ice Factory on Ashenheim Road in Kingston.

Senior Superintendent Patrick Gooden, Divisional Commander of the Kingston and St Andrew Division of the Jamaica Fire Brigade, said that the fire service responded to a call at 1:28 pm that the warehouse was on fire.

He said when the unit arrived, it was observed that the entire building was on fire and that the blaze had spread to the nearby factory.

According to Gooden, seven units in total with 65 firefighters are now battling the blaze.

There have been no reports of loss of lives or injuries

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
