Inquest into Jason Neil’s death postponed following expert testimonies

· The Gleaner

The inquest into the mysterious death of 32-year-old Jason Neil has been postponed to November 7, following testimony from two key witnesses at the Mandeville Parish Court today.

Dr Althea Grace Neblett, the pathologist who conducted Neil's post-mortem, testified virtually from Ontario, Canada. Her appearance was mandated by the presiding judge at the previous hearing to clarify critical details in the autopsy report.

Joining her on the stand was Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Michael Bernard, a ballistics expert specialising in firearm identification and shooting incident reconstruction. His testimony is particularly important as investigators are exploring whether a firearm may have been involved in Neil's death.

Despite the testimonies, the cause of death remains undetermined, leaving the investigation ongoing. The inquest is still in its fact-finding phase, and the adjournment has left the community awaiting answers once again.

Bunny Neil, Jason's father, expressed no objection to the delay, stating that he hopes the proceedings will soon shed light on the tragic circumstances of his son's death.
