This is the horrific moment a gang unleased a brutal hammer attack on a car during the school run.

The 30-second clip shows the motor smashed between a BMW X5 and a Land Rover before at least four men leap in to attack the driver of the car.

Thugs can then be seen smashing the passenger window of the black Volkswagen Golf before running towards the driver, a man in his 50s, and landing a string of blows on him using hammers and baseball bats.

The footage is believed to have been filmed by another member of the gang responsible, who then shared it on social media.
