TikTok scrollers get an extra THREE WEEKS holiday, new research says

Staff who brew up a storm at the office bag themselves an eight days of paid 'holiday' a year, new research claims.

A recent study has unearthed workers who make the tea gain over a week in extra unofficial holiday.

In a bid to find the biggest time-wasters at work, the research estimated that tea drinkers have three cups a day, taking up to five minutes to brew each serving.

The 15 minutes that the average tea-loving Brit spends making their daily brews racks up to 59 hours - equivalent to eight working days every year.

However tea drinkers aren't the biggest jobsworths in the office, with TikTok scrollers spending up ton eye-watering three weeks on the app at work every year.

The research commissioned by Haypp found that the office's biggest time wasters were TikTok scrollers who earned an extra THREE weeks off by scrolling through the app at work (file image)

Employees who are TikTok fans spend over half  an hour on the app daily, amounting to a staggering 129 annually on the video app in work alone.

It also revealed that smokers and vapers wasted around 6 days a week every year by puffing away on their cigarettes - electronic or otherwise.

Retailer Haypp, who commissioned the research, found the unhealthy habits lead to an average of five to ten minutes of sunken time in the workplace, which build up to nearly 40 hours over the course of 12 months.

Even more innocent habits such as making chit-chat about the weather results in five days of extra unofficial holiday.

Those who are slightly more tardy with their time and arrive to work late also crept into the top five list of office timewasters, bagging an extra three days of holiday with their lateness.

Markus Lindblad from Haypp said: 'We conducted this research to find out who the biggest time wasters were in the workplace, and it's been shocking to see how much additional holiday time some people get.

'It's also been interesting to see that a large proportion of UK smokers are still gaining some extra time away from work to enjoy a cigarette, with some wasting 20 minutes or more every day.

'A great smoke free alternative that can be enjoyed from the comfort of people's desk or place of work is a nicotine pouch.

'Nicotine pouches are discreet, can be used at any time and are also better for the environment too.

'And while it would save employers one week per year of working hours, a switch to the less harmful pouches could give a smoker many more years of life.'
