Urgent hunt for boy and mother who vanished more than two weeks ago

An urgent national search is underway to find a woman and 11-year-old boy who disappeared more than two weeks ago.

Mother and son Anxhelina, 32, and Rojs, 11, were first reported missing from Hyde in Tameside, Greater Manchester on September 19. 

The pair are thought to have links to the North East, London and Scotland, with numerous other UK police forces also issuing public appeals.

Greater Manchester Police are appealing for anyone with details about their possible whereabouts to get in touch.

In a statement, the force said: 'We are continuing to appeal for any information around missing Anxhelina (32) and Rojs (11) who have been missing from Hyde since Thursday 19 September 2024.

'We believe that they have links to the North East, London and Scotland. Officers are becoming increasingly concerned for their welfare.'

Police Scotland confirmed that the pair have links to Edinburgh.

A spokesperson said: 'Anxhelina and Rojs have links to the Edinburgh area. Contact Police via 101 if you think you can help.'

Further details about the pair's disappearance have not been disclosed by Greater Manchester Police.
