Don Jr. breaks silence on Kimberly split and her move to Greece

Donald Trump Jr. has expressed his excitement at his ex-fiancé Kimberly Guilfoyle being nominated as America's new ambassador to Greece on the same day DailyMail.com revealed their split.

President-elect Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that Guilfoyle, 55, will be moving overseas next year as his representative in Athens. 

Don Jr., 46, said: 'I am so proud of Kimberly. She loves America and she always has wanted to serve the country as an Ambassador. She will be an amazing leader for America First.'

Guilfoyle got engaged to Trump's eldest son on December 31, 2020, but that was not made public until January 2022. The pair had been dating since 2018. 

She admitted being 'blindsided' when images emerged earlier this fall of her fiancé dining with another woman, Bettina Anderson, 38.

A source confirmed to DailyMail.com on Tuesday: 'There is no more Kimberly and Don – at least not romantically.

'Their engagement hasn't officially been called off yet. They were waiting until after the Inauguration to announce.'

Guilfoyle has not been seen with Don Jr., 46, since November 12. 

Meanwhile, he has been spending an increasing amount of time with his new Palm Beach socialite love interest.

DailyMail.com published on Tuesday images of Don Jr. with Bettina Anderson enjoying a night out in Palm Beach, Florida, for her birthday celebration.

Just hours later, President-elect Trump gave a glowing recollection of his years knowing Guilfoyle, a former Fox News host who was previously married to California Gov. Gavin Newsom when he was mayor of San Francisco.

He revealed that Guilfoyle will serve as ambassador to Greece in his incoming administration and be making the move to Athens.

Guilfoyle studied international law and entered public life as a prosecutor in San Francisco and Los Angeles. 

She was a host on Fox News for years.

She first made her way into the Trump orbit due to her relationship with the president-elect's son.

'Her extensive experience and leadership in law, media, and politics along with her sharp intellect make her supremely qualified to represent the United States, and safeguard its interests abroad,' Trump said in a Truth Social post.

'Kimberly is perfectly suited to foster strong bilateral relations with Greece, advancing our interests on issues ranging from defense cooperation to trade and economic innovation.'

Don Jr. and Guilfoyle began dating in 2018.

DailyMail.com first revealed their relationship was all but over in September after the 46-year-old was spotted kissing the socialite.

However, just days after that revelation, Guilfoyle was spotted by Don Jr's side on his surprise trip to the Balkans.

Don Jr. traveled to Serbia and Romania to deliver the message that a second Trump presidency would ensure an end to Russia's war in Ukraine. 

This followed another revelation by Daily Mail that Bettina Anderson had been featured in a video schmoozing with the former president's son, his ex-wife and their daughter at a party in Florida, with Kimberly nowhere in sight.

Sources close to the couple at the time insisted Kimberly had been invited but had a speaking engagement that night.
