Warped sex fiend jailed after tying up woman and raping her for days

A warped sex fiend who tied up a woman and repeatedly raped her for four days has been jailed for 15 years.

Sick Ashley Lacey-Pring, 29, subjected his victim to 'callous humiliation to sate his drug-driven lust' in a hotel room in Bournemouth, Dorset.

He and the woman, who can't be named for legal reasons, initially had consensual sex but Lacey-Pring then dosed himself with illegal libido-enhancing drugs and demanded more sex from her.

But despite her protests he would not take no for an answer and tied her ankles and held her down to the bed as well as assaulting her.

His victim was only able to ask the hotel manager for help after four days, when Lacey-Pring ran out of drugs and left the hotel in search of more.

It is a case that has chilling hallmarks to that of John Sweeney who held a woman hostage tied to a bed for four days and repeatedly raped her - which featured in the recent ITV crime series Until I Kill You.

Lacey-Pring denied two counts of rape, two counts of sexual assault and one offence of inflicting grievous bodily harm between February 4 and 8, 2022. He was found guilty by a jury at Bournemouth Crown Court.

His victim told the court she used to be an 'outgoing and bubbly person' but was left scared to leave the house or trust anyone after the incident.

She lost her job, attempted suicide and became dependant on alcohol.

She told him: 'My life has forever been affected by you and your actions to me. My life will never be totally free from you.'

Christopher Pix, defending, said Lacey-Pring, who had 30 previous convictions for 40 offences, had been failed with his mental health and had spiralled into a world of alcohol and drug addiction.

He said it was an 'incredibly nasty but isolated incident' and a 'few days of madness'.

Judge Jonathan Fuller KC said the defendant did not explicitly stop the victim from leaving, but his actions made her too scared to leave.

He said: 'There were multiple incidents, no fewer than three occasions over the three to four days. There was little sleep, the drug consumption was continuous and you demanded more sex.

'She said if she resisted you became horrible and abusive and you wouldn't take no for an answer. When she accused you of rape you just got angry, when she complained of pain you told her to shut up and put her head in the pillow.

'This was horrible and degrading. It was the callous humiliation as you sought to sate your drug-driven lust.'

Lacey-Pring, of no fixed abode, admitted an offence of intentional strangulation against a separate victim and theft from a shop, both committed while he was on bail for the hotel offences.

He was sentenced to 15 years in prison, placed on the sex offenders' register for an indefinite period and handed an indefinite restraining order against the victim.

Speaking after the case, DS Shane Grant from BCP CID said: 'I want to thank the victim in this case for the incredible bravery she has shown in coming forward to report these offences and for the support she has provided throughout our investigation.

'As a result of her courage and resilience, we were able to compile evidence and hold Ashley Lacey-Pring accountable for his appalling and contemptible actions.'
