Britain's most ticketed street has been revealed, as figures revealed more than 3,000 parking fines were issued.

In March earlier this year, research showed that drivers are being handed an average of more than 35,000 parking tickets by private companies - with one firm paying almost £1.5m for personal data from the DVLA.

Motoring charity the RAC Foundation said many drivers could feel 'badly let down' by the delay in ministers introducing a code of conduct aimed at eradicating some of the sector's worst practices despite legislation being passed.

Of the tickets issued, ParkingEye has sought information belonging to 569,000 motorists over a nine-month period last year.

But, looking at what street handed out the most parking fines, research shows there is one place in the South West of England which is notorious for giving out tickets.

The fake message, strewn with spelling errors, warns people they have a parking fine and threatens to ban drivers from the road if they do not pay up on time.

The menacing text also says they could be taken to court or have to pay more.

It then asks people to click on a link in order to enter their vehicle registration and pay the fine in a bid to swindle people's hard earned cash.

The text message reads 'Dvsa notice for you: You have a parking penalty charge due on 2024/9/30. If you do not pay your fine on time, Your car may be banned from driving, you might haeve to pay more, or you could be taken to court.
