CCTV released by police after woman's handbag stolen from trolley in Newcastle M&S

The reported theft happened last month at Marks & Spencer in Kingston Park

Officers have released an image of a man they would like to speak to following a report of theft in Newcastle.

At around 3.25pm on Wednesday, September 18, police received a report of a theft at Marks & Spencer in Kingston Park.

It was reported that a man had approached a woman and removed her handbag from the trolley before leaving the store. The bag is said to have contained a number of valuables, including bank cards, a mobile phone and £100 cash.

The victim did not sustain any injuries but was left understandably shaken by the incident.

A number of enquiries have been carried out by officers since the report was first received to locate the offender.

Today (Monday), officers have released images of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the report.

The man was in the area at the time of the incident and officers believe they could have information which could assist their enquiries.
