Toblerone's hidden logo detail leaves people in disbelief - and it's actually very obvious

The iconic Toblerone chocolate bar, a staple under many Christmas trees, harbours a secret in its logo that has eluded countless fans. The 'mountainous' treat, filled with honey, almond, and nougat, has an animal hidden within its packaging that has largely remained unnoticed.

However, this year, after production shifted from Switzerland to Slovakia, the wrapper's wording changed from "of Switzerland" to "established in Switzerland", drawing more attention to the design.

The Express highlighted the story of a boy whose keen observation about the bear on the Toblerone packaging caused a stir on social media. His mother shared the revelation on Twitter: "My son had his first Toblerone today. 'What's the bear for? ' Me: 'What bear? ' I was today years old when I found out there's a bear in the Toblerone logo! " Despite recent changes to the packaging, the bear, which stands on its hind legs as part of the two-tone logo, remains a constant feature.

A social media user shed light on the bear's significance: "Toblerone comes from Bern, Switzerland. Also known as the city of bears." The discovery led to widespread admiration for the observant child online, with one commenter humorously admitting: "There is clearly no bear in the logo of Tobl... oh, there he is. Damn.", reports the Mirror.

Users were astounded by a new revelation regarding the iconic Toblerone chocolate, with one person expressing in awe: "I have never seen that! ! ! Your son is brilliant! " Another remarked, adding a touch of humour: "Eating them for 50 years never noticed that, your lad's a genius, in my defence the wrapper is the last thing I'm thinking about when I get one."

The Mirror previously reported on a viral TikTok from @howiedrawsthings who enlightened many to an often-overlooked aspect of the renowned Swiss chocolate bar - a hidden image honouring the Swiss capital. Given that Toblerone originated in Bern in 1908, the company has embedded a covert homage to its home city in the packaging design.

Even the name 'Toblerone' cleverly embeds a nod to Bern, with select letters hinting at the capital’s name. @howiedrawsthings highlighted this by encircling the 'b', 'er', and 'n' within the brand logo and then drawing a triangle around the mountain graphic as he pointed out these domestic tributes.

The surprise for many chocolate lovers is the bear figure embedded within the mountain illustration. By creatively shading the illustration on the package, @howiedrawsthings showcased the clandestine bear.

This inclusion isn’t arbitrary; it stems from the bear featuring prominently on the coat of arms for the city of Bern, and as the artist disclosed: "A hidden bear is from the Bern coat of arms."

Reddit users have also noticed the concealed bear, and shared insights into its significance. One user explained: "Bears are everywhere in Bern. It's the symbol of the city. They are in fountains, statues, flags, monuments and most importantly, there's a f***ing bear park in the city where you can see bears as if the city centre is a zoo. There's even a place called bear pit, which is very weird to be near."
