DWP benefit payment rates from April 2025 - full list from PIP to state pensions

by · ChronicleLive

Millions of households are in line for a financial uplift after Chancellor Rachel Reeves announced that benefit rates will increase next year.

Usually, benefits are recalibrated each April according to the inflation figures from the previous September. This year, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation rate recorded a 1.7% rise.

Consequently, most benefits overseen by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) will experience a 1.7% increase, offering eligible individuals hundreds of pounds in extra support.

The state pension and Pension Credit benefits will see an even larger boost of 4.1%, in accordance with the Triple Lock pledge. This implies that over 12 million state pensioners will receive up to £470 more next year, while single Pension Credit recipients can expect additional payments averaging up to £450.

From Universal Credit to Attendance Allowance, here's the comprehensive list of confirmed payment rates that benefit claimants can anticipate in April 2025, reports the Express.

A new study by Policy in Practice revealed that the sum of unclaimed welfare benefits and support has surged to £22.7 billion, up from £19 billion just last year.

The research suggests that upwards of eight million individuals could be missing out on an average of £2,700 annually in entitlements they have a right to.

Claire Atchia McMaster, director of income and external affairs at Turn2usa charity fighting against povertyremarked: "We encourage everyone to complete a regular benefits calculation to ensure you are accessing all available support."

"You can do this on both the Turn2us and Policy in Practice websites. In 2023, 60 percent of users on the Turn2us Benefits Calculator identified new benefits they were eligible for."

For assistance with benefit calculations, people are welcome to use the Turn2us and Policy Practice benefit calculators here.
