Man charged with Blyth knife attack which left three in hospital appears in court
by Daniel Hall · ChronicleLiveA man who has been charged with seven offences after a knife attack in Blyth has appeared in court.
Robert Falloon, 31, of Blyth, was charged with three counts of causing GBH with intent, three counts of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place, and one count of attempt to cause GBH with intent to do GBH after a knife attack on Bridge Street in the early hours of Sunday morning which left three men in hospital.
A huge police cordon was in place in much of Blyth town centre on Sunday, with the town's bus station, Bridge Street, and several surrounding streets off limits to the public.
Emergency services were called shortly before 1am on Sunday morning after reports of a fight in the street. Three men were taken to hospital with wounds thought to be caused by a blade.
All three men have now been discharged from hospital.
When Falloon appeared at South East Northumberland Magistrates' Court on Monday, he entered no plea to any of the charges. His case has now been adjourned to Newcastle Crown Court, where he will appear on December 4.
A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: "With charges now live, we would urge the public not to speculate about the incident both online and in the community."
