I'm A Celebrity's Danny Jones confronts Dean McCullough amid rising chore tensions

by · ChronicleLive

I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!'s Danny Jones found himself confronting camper Dean McCullough over his chores amid rising tensions.

Radio presenter Dean, aged 32, had previously had a clash with Coronation Street's Alan Halsall over collecting wood.

During Wednesday's show on ITV, viewers saw Dean moaning about his chores, but camp leader Danny, 38, wasn't sympathetic. With Melvin left to manage the water-fetching task alone and Dean absent, Melvin remarked: "This is a lone man situation, he's very good at disappearing."

Dean struggled with just one pot of water, complaining to his mates: "That is no joke, the pot is so heavy."

He also admitted: "I hate doing the water guys I've said it, I'm just gonna have to hold my hands up, it's an awful job and I hate it, and I don't wanna do it anymore. Guys I can't, it's not for me" reports the Mirror.

The camp's leader, Danny, had a straightforward response: "Just get on with it mate."

Even as Melvin tried to encourage him and others urged for a positive outlook, Dean insisted, "Look, no beef, no drama, I just hate my job."

Melvin humorously nicknamed him Houdini for his tendency to vanish, which led to laughter amongst the campmates. Oti could be heard saying "Shots fired!" while Dean, taken aback, was left speechless.

Dean has been stirring up mixed feelings since his arrival in the I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here camp, yet his radio colleague has leapt to his defence. Having faced numerous trials and screamed the 'I'm a celebrity, get me out of here' catchphrase twice since starting his stint Down Under, Dean has already felt the pressure mount within the camp, especially after butting heads with Coronation Street favourite Alan Halsall over doing chores.

Nonetheless, Radio 1's early morning host Danni Diston has come to Dean's defence, humorously remarking: "I did think in my head he's probably having a bit of a lie in out there," before suggesting that the jungle may be offering him extra downtime compared to his usual pre-dawn starts. On the airwaves at 5am, Danni revealed to the Sun that Dean is typically quite the morning person.

"I have never really experienced a grumpy Dean so I'm lucky in that sense. I don't think he's a very grumpy man. He does early breakfast and you have to be quite up and on it to do earlies."

She hinted that his brief clash with Alan might stem from exhaustion or the increasing hunger in camp, highlighting the incident that occurred as Dean snoozed while Jane Moore was left gathering firewood solo.
