Man arrested over alleged rape at Groat Market venue in Newcastle
An 18-year-old reported she was raped by a man she met on a night out

An 18-year-old woman reported she was raped by a man she met while on a night out, on Saturday, April 27. Police say the alleged attack happened sometime between 1am and 1.30am at a venue on Newcastle's Groat market.
Now a 20-year-old man has been arrested by officers investigating the alleged attack. He was questioned on suspicion of rape before being released on bail.
Police say the victim is being supported by specialist officers.
