Armed police raid Crawcrook house over suspected gun offences with two arrested
by Gavin Havery · ChronicleLiveA man and woman have been arrested on suspicion of gun offences in a dawn raid by police.
Officers were sent to an address in the Crawcrook area of Gateshead just before 6am on Tuesday to make the arrests.
A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said the pair have been bailed and the investigation is ongoing.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “Shortly before 6am yesterday (Tuesday), we executed a warrant at an address on Fell View West, in the Crawcrook area of Gateshead.
“Officers arrested a man in his 30s and a woman in her 20s on suspicion of being unlawfully in possession of a firearm.
“Both the man and the woman have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.”
