Man charged for failing to provide specimen after allegedly crashing into parked car in Ashington
by Daniel Hall · ChronicleLiveA man has been arrested and charged with failing to provide a specimen for analysis after allegedly crashing into a parked car.
Emergency services were called to Lichfield Close, in Ashington, in the early hours of Saturday morning after receiving reports of the collision. Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service sent three fire engines to the scene to make the vehicles safe, and were on the scene for around half an hour.
Nobody was injured in the incident. A 32-year-old man was arrested and will appear at South East Northumberland Magistrates' Court in December.
A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: "At around 2.10am on Saturday (November 2), we received a report of a collision on Lichfield Close in Ashington. Officers attended the scene where it was alleged a car had collided with a stationary vehicle that was parked on the road.
"Nobody was reported to have been injured. A 32-year-old man was arrested in connection with the report, and has since been charged to appear before the courts next month."
