The statement made by emergency services in Argentina has been released in full, following the shock death of Liam Payne at a hitel in its capital of Buenos Aires on Wednesday.

People across the world reacted with shock and devastation to news that Liam had died at the age of just 31, with reports emerging around 10.30pm UK time, that he'd fallen from a third floor balcony at the Casa Sur hotel. Fans were quick to share their devastation over Liam's death on social media, as tributes steadily poured in from globally famous firms like MTV and Spotify and stars like Paris Hilton, Charlie Puth and Zedd, the producers Liam collaborated with on singer Get Lowe also expressed their sadness at his passing.

Liam shot to fame on The X Factor and several stars from the ITV show took to social to react, including fellow 2010 act Katie Waissel, who said her heart had been 'torn apart' by the news and the programme's presenter Dermot O'Leary, who wrote: "I remember him as a 14 year old turning up to audition on The X Factor, and blowing us away singing Sinatra. He just loved to sing."

According to Alberto Crescenti, head of the state emergency medical system, Liam fell into a courtyard. at the Casa Sur hotel where he was staying. An investigation into the circumstances of his death is underway, and an autopsy is being conducted.

A statement from the chief read: "At 17.04 through the 911 integrated public safety system, we were alerted of a person who was in an internal courtyard of the management of a south house hotel.

"At 17.11 a SAME team arrived and verified the death of this man and later we found out that he was a singer in a musical group. Unfortunately, he had injuries that were incompatible with life, as a result of his fall, so we had to confirm his death, there was no possibility of resuscitation."

On Tuesday morning, details of a heartbreaking call to emergency services from the desk manager at the Casa Sur, in which he expressed concerns about a guest "drunk on drugs and alcohol", before urging them to send someone urgently as they were worried the man in question would do something to 'endanger his life.'
