The owner of a Northumberland chippy feels his business has been targeted after windows were smashed twice in three months.

CCTV footage shows two people on bikes outside The Front Traditional Fish and Chips on Front Street, Newbiggin-by-the-Sea, throwing bricks through the front windows. One of the alleged offenders had the bricks stored in the basket on the front of their bike.

Monday's incident follows another act of vandalism which took place on July 17, where one of the chippy's windows was smashed with a hammer, owner Navdeep Kumar claims. The 43-year-old, who took over the shop in February this year, said: "It's already happened twice with us now.

"I don't have any idea who has done it. We haven't fallen out with anyone around here, all of the community is very nice. But they came with a purpose, it's not like they were passing and just threw it, they came, did the job, and fled.

"I'm feeling sad, all my family are feeling sad. Why us? And why have they done it? For what?"
