Man arrested on suspicion of outraging public decency in Newcastle's Eldon Square

A man has been arrested at Newcastle's Eldon Square on suspicion of outraging public decency.

Northumbria Police have confirmed a man in his 20s was arrested after officers were called to the store on Wednesday morning.

Police received reports about the behaviour of a man in the shopping centre, and responded and arrested a man.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: "Shortly before 9.30am today (Wednesday), we received a report of concern for the behaviour of a man in Eldon Square in Newcastle city centre.

"Officers attended and arrested a man in his 20s on suspicion of outraging public decency. He is currently in police custody."
