Tributes have been paid to a 'dearly loved son, brother, grandson and a cherished family member'.

The family of 22-year-old Lucien Guest have paid a heartfelt tribute after he sadly died following a collision on the A19, near Murton on Sunday morning (September, 29).

Emergency services were called at 11.50am on Sunday morning to the one-vehicle collision on the southbound carriageway of the A19 at the Murton Interchange, near Dalton Park and Seaham.

The southbound carriageway was closed for a number of hours on Sunday, while the northbound side was closed within the A182 junction. The North East Ambulance Service and Great North Air Ambulance attended, alongside Durham Constabulary.

Now Lucien's family have paid tribute to him, after describing him as naturally kind with a cheerful and positive look to life.

Durham Constabulary released a statement today (October 1), from Lucien's heartbroken family which read: “Lucien, our dearly loved son, brother, grandson and cherished family member whose young life at the age of twenty-two was tragically cut short.

“You were so so loved. Lucien’s fun, loving nature endeared him to those who knew him as a child and as the beautiful, sensitive young man he became.

“He will be loved and missed by the whole family and by those whose lives he touched. Memories of life with Lucien will be treasured for the rest of our lives.

“Rest in peace sweetheart. Here's hoping all your sorrows are now gone and you can fly free.”
