Missing Whitley Bay teenager found 'safe and well'
by Sam Volpe · ChronicleLiveUpdate: Northumbria Police confirmed Reece Lane was found "safe and well" on Wednesday afternoon.
Police had earlier released new pictures of the Whitley Bay teenager who has been missing since Monday - but he was spotted on CCTV in Newcastle on Wednesday morning.
Reece Lane, 15, was last seen on CCTV in Newcastle city centre at around 9am on Wednesday, Northumbria Police said. Officers renewed their appeal to find the teenager, though there have yet been no other confirmed sightings of him.
In a previous appeal released on Tuesday, police explained how at that time Reece had been reported missing from Whitley Bay at 10.30am on Monday. Since then, despite the recent sighting, police and Reece's family have grown increasingly concerned.
Officers are again calling on anyone who knows where Reece may be - or Reece himself - to contact them. The teenager is known to frequent the Marden Quarry and Cullercoats areas, but as reported was last definitively spotted in Newcastle city centre.. He is 5ft 6ins, of medium build, and has mousey hair.
His hair is long on top and shaven at the sides, and he was last seen wearing a red hoody - with a tear in its left pocket - along with black Nike jogging bottoms and black Adidas trainers. He is also believed to be wearing a dark blue fleece top underneath.
Reece, or anyone who knows where he might be, should contact Northumbria Police by sending a direct message on social media or using the live chat function on the force’s website. For those who are unable to do so, call 101.
