Man suffered 'serious head injuries' following group assault in smoking area of Ashington bar
Police are appealing for help finding three men they wish to speak to
by Sam Volpe · ChronicleLiveA man in his 40s was taken to hospital with head injuries after being assaulted outside of Bubbles bar in Ashington.
Northumbria Police have now issued an appeal as they wish to speak to three men following the incident, said to have taken place at around 1.20am on Monday July 29.
It was reported that the man, in his 40s, had been assaulted in the smoking area of the venue in John Street - and then that an unknown man has approached him, and attempted to begin an argument. Then, police said, when the victim told him to go away, he was punched in the face.
Officers said the victim was left on the floor "before a number of other men began kicking and stamping on him". The man suffered serious head injuries and received hospital treatment, but has since been discharged.
Northumbria Police's investigators now wish to speak to the three men pictured, as they are believed to have been in the area at the time.
