by · ChronicleLive

Police are looking for a man the wish to speak to in relation to a vehicle break-in in the South Shields area.

Northumbria Police has released an image of the man, and wish to speak with him in connection with a series of attempted break-ins - and one successful theft - from cars parked in the Simonside area of the town. The reported crimes took place in the early hours, between 4am and 5am, of October 17 this year.

It was reported that a lone offender tried to access a number of vehicles, before eventually succeeding and then stealing the contents of one vehicle before leaving the area.

It is understood the man police are seeking was in the area at the time police hope they can assist with the investigation. The man, or anyone who knows him, should send a direct message to Northumbria Police on social media, use the live chat function on the force’s website or complete a crime update form.

For those unable to do so, call 101. Please quote crime number: 122577G/24.
