Lisa Jordan talks about selling her first home and why she struggled to part with it

by · RSVP Live

Lisa Jordan moved into her forever home last year after an exhaustive five year search.

The beauty and fashion entrepreneur eventually stumbled upon her dream home about three years ago - when it wasn’t for sale. But determined as ever, Lisa moved into the house one year ago with her husband and their three children.

Long-time followers will be familiar with Lisa’s old home, the house she lived in with her husband for over a decade, the home she took their three children home too and the home that was the backdrop for much of her early career.

In the new issue of RSVP Home, Lisa opened up about buying the starter home and why she struggled to part ways with it.

Speaking about her first home, Lisa said it had everything she needed at that time in her life. “I call my first home my starter home, but it was more than a starter home. It was a newbuild that we bought from the plans.

“I was very lucky to get it. It was near my mum’s house in Cork, it was beside a wooded area and it was lovely, we made great memories there. But I knew going in the door it was not my forever home. It was my home to get on the property ladder… that was the way things were back then.

“That was in 2011. But we loved that home and it was perfect for me and my husband and a potential family. I have a great grá for that house. It really had everything we wanted and we’d lots of friends in that community so it was a beautiful home to be in for over a decade”.

Lisa took her time moving out of the house and waited to sell it until she was ready and found the right family to pass the baton to.

“I just couldn’t let go for a while and I needed a little time to say goodbye myself. I didn’t really know what to do with it. One thing I did know is that I wanted some other family to make new memories there, that was important to me.

“We recently sold it to a beautiful family. Knowing they’ll make memories there makes me so happy”.
