Garden Rescue is back on BBC One with Chris Hull offering his expertise to help transform outdoor spaces. Chris runs his own company called Greenbook Landscape Design and has won awards for his work.

He started out his career as a gardener, learning the fundamentals before venturing into the design and landscaping world. Speaking to RHS he said: "I spent a lot of working with my step-dad in woodlands, doing logging, hedge laying and other traditional rural skills.

"Growing up in the Devon countryside just made me have such an appreciation for the outdoors. I design well-considered gardens that meet a client’s brief whilst also being sympathetic to their surroundings."

Away from work, he is based in the South West with his wife Zoe, an interior designer, and their dog Stella - the latest family addition. Introducing himself to his Instagram followers, he said: "I was working outdoors in the Devon countryside from a young age and then I got my first gardening job at 15 and haven’t looked back since.

"Along the way I’ve worked in gardening, landscaping, rural skills, studied ecology and conservation, and ended up doing a degree in garden design @sparsholt_coll where I then went on to work as a designer and set up my business a few years down the line."

As for his passions, he explained: "Anything to do with the environment, ecology and wildlife.

"Within my own work I’m really interested in sustainable construction methods, beautiful plantings and mental health."

Opening up more on his downtime, he said he loves to go on walks and go out for a pub lunch.

He added to Sitting Spiritually: "On the more exciting side of things, I ride mountain bikes and BMX which keeps the adrenaline pumping! If I don't get out on a bike of some kind for a while I start to get twitchy.

"We recently have just rescued a five-month-old puppy from Bulgaria called Stella, so although she isn't relaxing right now, my ideal relaxing day will be a Sunday roast and some dog walking with her."

Chris and Zoe, who live in Bath, got married in 2023 with Chris sharing a series of snaps of the two of them from their big day on Instagram.

He said: "Sorry that it’s not garden content but I’ve just married the most amazing woman ever @zoparr. Thank you to everyone that helped put our amazing day together and to our bloody awesome family and friends. We had an absolute blast!!"
