A manager of a Puma Power fuel station located near the Yangon-Mawlamyine Highway in Myenigone Village, Thaton Township, has been missing for 10 days after being abducted by an armed group, according to sources close to the fuel station.

On the afternoon of November 8, a 38-year-old manager named Daw Theint Thuza, from the Puma Power fuel station in Myenigone Village, was reportedly taken away by an armed group.

Following her abduction, no one has contacted the fuel station regarding her situation, according to someone close to the station.

The source added, “Daw Theint Thuza is a resident of Naung Kula Ywar Gyi Village in Thaton Township. Her family has not received any communication either.”

It is suspected to be a case of kidnapping, but no ransom demands have been made yet. Concerns are growing over her safety, the source added.

At around 12:30 PM on November 8, a black Probox vehicle arrived at the Puma Power fuel station in Myenigone Village. Two armed men exited the vehicle and approached two staff members, Maung Han Htoo Zyan and Maung Aung Myint Than, claiming they needed to question them. The men led the staff to the back of the station, tied their hands, and gagged them with clear tape. They were then instructed to flee the scene only after they heard an explosion, according to sources close to the station.

Another armed man entered the manager's office, where Daw Theint Thuza was, and forcibly abducted her.

In addition to abducting Daw Theint Thuza, the perpetrators took an Acer laptop and over 600,000 kyats in cash from a desk drawer. They then drove toward Thuwanawati town in Thaton Township. At approximately 12:45 PM, an explosion occurred in the manager’s office.

Similarly, on November 6, around 2 PM, around 20 members of the Mon State-based New Mon State Party (AD) entered the Honda Myanmar veneer factory in Kyaikywe Village, Mudon Township. Armed with guns, the group abducted the factory manager, a factory director, and a Chinese expert. The three abductees were released on the afternoon of November 9, according to reports.
