SAC Chairman attends robe donation ceremony of Maravijaya Monastery

The Kathina robe offering ceremony was held in the Maravijaya Buddha Garden at Maravijaya Buddha Image in Dakhinathiri Township in Nay Pyi Taw on the morning of November 13, sources said.

Monks headed by Abhidhama Maharatha Guru Bhad Dantazaninda, the Presiding Sayadaw of Pauk Myaing Monastery in Lewe Township, and the monks resided at Maravijaya Monastery came to pay their respects. The ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC), the Prime Minister, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and his wife, Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Vice-Chairman of SAC, Deputy Prime Minister, Vice-Senior Gen. Soe Win and his wife, Daw Than Than Nwe, Council secretary and wife, Co-secretary and wife, Councilors and their wives, Union Ministers and their wives, Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council, High-ranking military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence and their wives, Commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command and officials.

First, the SAC chairman offered a meal, fruit and flowers and water to the Buddha Statue inside the Maravijaya Monastery hall, and the SAC Chairman and the guests who attended the ceremony, wandered around and looked at the Kathinla robes, offerings and tree-shaped stands to hung offerings, which were prepared to be donated to the Maravijaya Monastery.

After that, the ceremony was opened, and all the guests who attended the ceremony followed the five precepts of Buddhism from Agama Mahapandita Baddanta Nainanda, the Presiding Sayadaw of Maravijaya Monastery, and listened respectfully to the Paritta suttas recited by the monks.

After that, the Chairman of the State Administration Council, the Prime Minister and his wife presented Kathina robes and gifts to the Pauk Myaing Sayadaw. It is reported that they also donated Kathina robes and gifts to the Presiding Sayadaw of the Maravijaya Monastery.

After that, the SAC Vice Chairman, the Deputy Prime Minister and his wife donated Kathina robes and gifts to Presiding Sayadaw of Intha East Monastery Abhidha Agama of Saddharma Jotika Baddanta Pandita in Leway town.

Then the council secretary and wife, co-secretary and wife, councilors and Union Ministers donated Kathina robes and gifts to the monks.

Then, they received a dedication sermon from Agma Maha Pandita Agma Maha Saddhama Jotikadhaza Baddanta Vimala Bodhi, the Presiding Sayadaw of Mingalar Zeyaon Priyatti Monastery of Pali University in Pyinmana.

After that, the ceremony was concluded and the SAC Chairman, his wife and visitors donated food for monks.
