The Myanmar Embassy in Bangkok has announced that it will take action against individuals attempting to renew their visas using falsified endorsements from the embassy. The embassy was notified by the Immigration Department of Thailand that some overstaying individuals were submitting applications with fake endorsements.

To combat this issue, the Myanmar Consular Office has provided a template of its consular officers’ signatures and stamps, along with the letter number and date of supporting letters, to international embassies. This will enable the relevant authorities to verify the authenticity of any letters of recommendation.

Individuals found using forged documents will have their passports canceled, and legal action will be pursued. Additionally, the embassy has specifically requested that the holder of passport MF364672 (born on March 1, 1997) report to the embassy for clarification. If they fail to do so by October 25, the passport will be rendered null and void.

The Myanmar Embassy in Bangkok is currently issuing visas on arrival and tourist visas, as well as recommendation letters for visa extensions, but only for those who have at least seven days remaining on their residence permits. There will be no exceptions made for individuals who have overstayed their permits.
