China to issue six-month visas for Myanmar businessmen and families starting November 18

The Chinese Embassy in Myanmar announced that new visa types allowing Myanmar businessmen and their families to stay in China for six months will be available starting November 18.

The embassy has announced that businessmen and family members from Myanmar will be issued a “Lancang - Mekong Visa” from November 18, which will allow them to stay in China for up to 180 days (six months).

The embassy said that the visa will be valid for five years and is a multiple entry type that allows multiple visits to China.

Only businessmen and their family members from Myanmar who meet the requirements can apply for this visa, announced the embassy.

Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang confirmed that the “Lancang-Mekong Visa” will be issued as part of regional cooperation.

The "Lancang-Mekong Visa" also includes Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, and Myanmar.
