Six homes seized in Paung Township over alleged links to armed groups

According to local residents, six houses in Utantar (Inner) Village, Paung Township, Mon State, were seized on November 5 on allegations of connections to armed groups. 

Security forces, along with township and village administrative officials, conducted the operation.

The seized properties belonged to U Kyaw Swar, U Aung Kyaw Moe, Daw Than Oo, U Sein Thaung, U Pho Pyaw, and U Zaw U. 

Authorities reportedly declared the homes as state property, citing their alleged links to armed organizations.

A local resident stated, "The seized houses belonged to individuals arrested earlier in October in Paung Township’s Thetkone, Nyaungkonegyi, and Utantar (Inner) villages for possession of weapons and ammunition".

Security forces reportedly apprehended eight men with weapons and ammunition between October 4 and 6 in these villages.

In a related incident on August 19, an explosion occurred in the compound of U Phyo Aung in Utantar (Outer) Village, Ward 6, Paung Township. Following the explosion, security forces found materials linked to explosives during a clearance operation and subsequently seized the property.
