Russia delivers 35 tons of humanitarian aid to support flood-affected regions in Myanmar

Due to flooding associated with Typhoon Yagi, humanitarian aid materials were delivered to aid in the restoration of disaster-affected areas. Representing Russia, the Ministry of Civil Defense, Emergencies, and Disaster Relief, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Rosatom (the Russian State Nuclear Energy Corporation), and the Aquarius group of companies sent these aid materials. The supplies were transported via a Russian cargo plane and arrived at Nay Pyi Taw Airport on November 24.
Following this, a handover ceremony for the humanitarian aid materials provided by Russian ministries and companies was held for the restoration of disaster-affected regions. The event was attended by U Aung Thaung, Chairman of the Myanmar-Russia Friendship Association, Deputy Minister for Social Welfare, Relief, and Resettlement U Soe Kyi, high-ranking officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Department of Disaster Management, as well as representatives from the Russian Embassy in Myanmar.
At the ceremony, Russian Ambassador to Myanmar Mr. Iskander Azizov and a representative from the donor organizations of Russia explained the details of the humanitarian aid donation. Deputy Minister U Soe Kyi expressed gratitude for the donation and presented a certificate of appreciation.
The humanitarian aid provided by the ministries and companies of the Russian Federation, totaling approximately 35 tons, will be distributed promptly to the flood-affected regions impacted by Typhoon Yagi.
