Man, 30s, arrested in Cork after cannabis and amphetamine worth €35,000 seized

A man in his 30s has been arrested after Gardaí in Cork seized cannabis and amphetamine with an estimated total value of €35,000.

As part of ongoing investigations targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the region, Gardaí from the Cork County Divisional Drugs Unit carried out a search under warrant of a residence in Youghal, Cork yesterday, Saturday, 16 November

During the search, Gardaí seized suspected cannabis and amphetamine with an estimated total value of €35,000.

A quantity of cash and paraphernalia suspected of being used in the preparation of drugs for sale and supply were also seized. All substances seized are subject to analysis by Forensic Science Ireland.

A man (30s) was arrested at the scene and is currently being detained at a Garda station in Co. Cork under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996. Investigations are ongoing.
