Revenue seize contraband, including cocaine and cigarettes, worth almost €320,000
by Cathal Ryan · Irish MirrorRevenue officers seized contraband with an estimated value of €320,000 in various operations in Dublin, the Midland and Rosslare over last week.
Officers seized approximately 13.5kgs of herbal cannabis, with an estimated value of €270,000, over 1kg of amphetamine, with an estimated value of €15,000 and 200g of cocaine, with an estimated value of €14,000.
Revenue also uncovered various quantities of other illicit drugs, with a combined value of approximately €2,000 as well as 11,660 cigarettes, of assorted brands, with an estimated value of €10,500 representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of approximately €8,300.

Lastly, officers also seized over 193 litres of alcohol, with an estimated value of €8,533 representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of over €2,600.
The illegal drugs were discovered, with the assistance of detector dogs Sam, Grace and Ciara, in parcels that originated in the USA, the United Kingdom, Canada, Thailand, Netherlands, Spain, Italy and Poland. The parcels were destined for various addresses nationwide.
The assorted drugs seized comprised 15mls of cannabis oil, 19.8g cannabis resin, 23g synthetic cannabinoids, 1.06kg THC edibles, 6 ecstasy tablets, 33.21g 4-Chloromethcatinone powder, 4g heroin, and 150 Alprazolam, Diazepam, Zolpidem and Zopiclone tablets.
The cigarettes seized include products branded Silk Cut, Marlboro, Super King and John Player. The alcohol seized comprised over 50 litres of spirits and approximately 143 litres of wine, of various brands.
A Revenue spokesperson confirmed investigations into all seizures are ongoing.
