Funeral of tragic hit-and-run teen Kedagh Moore hears heart-breaking goodbye from family

The devastated family of tragically killed Kedagh Moore said a tearful last goodbye at his funeral today.

Young teenager Kedagh, 16, died when he was struck by a car as he walked home from a friend’s house at 12.30am last Sunday near his home in Robertstown, Co Kildare.

His mum Glenda, father John, and sister Sadhbh led mourners into the Church of Our Lady and Saint Joseph in Prosperous for 11am funeral Mass.

Kedagh was walking along the R403 in Blackwood near Robertstown when the tragedy occurred.

A man appeared in court on Tuesday.

The man, Marin Silaghi, aged in his 40s and with an address in Ballybrittas, Portlaoise, Co Laois, was charged with two offences before Athy District Court.

He was charged under the Road Traffic Act with a hit-and-run and failing to stop at the scene.

Tributes for Kedagh continued today in an online book of condolence.

One read: "Deepest sympathy Glenda, John, Sadhbh and the extended family.

"Our thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time. RIP Kedagh."

Kedagh’s football club Clane United paid tribute earlier to the under-17 player.

It said: "The loss of such a terrific young man has left the club with a heartache that is felt by all our members."
