Donald Trump to work shift on McDonald's fryer as he mocks Kamala Harris' past job

by · Irish Mirror

Former President Donald Trump 's campaign has announced that the Republican nominee will be trying his hand at fast food work, taking a shift behind the counter at McDonald's.

The campaign revealed that Trump will be manning the fryer during a planned campaign stop in Philadelphia on Sunday, according to CNN. The ex-president has been hinting at this for weeks, continually mocking Vice President Kamala Harris ' stint as a McDonalds employee during her college years.

"Do you know what I am doing next week? I am going to a McDonald's to work! " he declared to a crowd of supporters in Nevada on Oct. 10.

In an interview with MSNBC's Stephanie Ruhle, Harris responded to Trump's jibes, stating: "Part of the reason I even talk about having worked at McDonald's is because there are people who work at McDonald's in our country who are trying to raise a family," she said. "I worked there as a student."

When discussing the economy, Ruhle highlighted that polls still indicate voters believe former President Donald Trump would handle the economy better. Harris retorted that her background gives her more in common with the average American than Trump, reports the Mirror US.

She emphasised that she worked at McDonalds during her college years.

Trump has consistently claimed on the campaign trail that Harris is fabricating her fast food experience.

Donald Trump claimed at an Indiana rally in September: "But she said she worked, and grew up in terrible conditions, she worked at McDonald's, it was such-SHE NEVER WORKED THERE! ".

When questioned on CNN's The Source with Kaitlan Collins about Trump's accusation that Vice President Harris lied about her McDonald's job was a fabrication and the idea of Trump working at McDonald's, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders replied: "For Donald Trump to accuse anybody of lying is nothing less than laughable," Sanders said. "What can you say this guy lies every single day and it's not just stretching the truth, it's making propitious lies."

According to the Harris campaign, as reported by the Daily Beast, the Vice President did work at the McDonald's in Alameda, California during the summer of 1983 while she was in college.

Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung told the Daily Beast: "Why won't they just provide real documentation and proof? The onus is on them. What does she have to hide?"
