The death of a man in an incident at Dublin Airport is being treated as a personal tragedy.

The man, who is understood to be a foreign national, died in an incident at the airport Sunday afternoon.

Sources have confirmed there was no suspicion of foul play.

The Garda Press Office said in a statement: “Gardaí and emergency services attended at the scene of an incident at Dublin Airport today, Sunday 17 November 2024.”

Earlier on Sunday, Gardaí shared they were attending the scene of what has been described as an ‘ongoing incident’ at the airport.

An Garda Síochána posted on X shortly after 1pm on Sunday afternoon about the incident. No further details were provided, but Gardaí advised that traffic in the area has been affected and delays are likely as a result.

“Traffic Update Dublin: Gardaí at Dublin Airport are currently at scene of an ongoing incident and wish to advise that traffic in the area is affected,” the post read.

“Motorists are advised to expect delays in the area.”

Dublin Airport has not yet provided information about the nature of the incident.
