Auckland crash: Man charged with attempted murder over serious injuries woman suffered

A man has been charged with attempted murder, in relation to a crash in the Auckland suburb of Manurewa that left a woman with serious injuries.

On 3 August, the man allegedly intentionally crashed a vehicle he was driving, with a female passenger who was known to him.

Detective Inspector Shaun Vickers said the victim suffered multiple serious injuries after the vehicle ploughed into a parked truck on Adams Road.

"Our investigation team has been working round the clock to piece together the events leading up to and surrounding this incident," he said.

The woman had now been discharged from hospital, however, she was still recovering from her injuries, he said.

The 24-year-old man is due to appear in Manukau District Court on Wednesday.
