Two police cars collide, left damaged

Two police cars were damaged after colliding with each other in Auckland's North Shore last night.

Police were called to a crash where a pedestrian was seriously injured on State Highway 1, near Moir Hill Bridge, about 9.25pm.

One of the police cars attempted to do a u-turn to get to the crash scene on the opposite side of the motorway and collided with another police car, a spokesperson confirmed.

Both cars were damaged and towed.

Neither officer was injured.

The serious crash unit had done a scene examination and police said they would be undertaking a review.
