Commercial premises evacuated after reports of gas leak in Dunedin

The southbound lane of State Highway 1 has reopened after a crash near Queens Gardens in central Dunedin.

Emergency services were called to reports of a gas leak after a vehicle hit a building on Cumberland Street this morning.

There were no initial indications of injuries but a nearby commercial building was evacuated as a precaution.

Fand Emergency NZ said there were no initial reports of injuries and the building had been cleared.
