Person killed, SH2 closed in Hawke's Bay crash

One person has died after a single vehicle crash on State Highway 2 near Waipawa in Central Hawke's Bay.

Police said the crash was reported to them at 10.15am on Monday morning.

Two other people were taken to Hawke's Bay Hospital with moderate injuries, they said.

State Highway 2 is expected to remain closed for some time, with southbound traffic is being diverted at Higginson Road, and northbound traffic at Racecourse Road.
