Search resumes for man who fell into Manawatū River
· RNZThe search resumed Sunday morning for a man who fell into the Manawatū River in Palmerston North on Saturday afternoon.
Police said the man was walking his dog at Ahimate Reserve when he fell into the water about 1.30pm.
His companion raised the alarm when he did not reappear.
A search began yesterday involving Police Search and Rescue staff, Rangitikei Civil Defence's drone team, a Swift Water Rescue boat, kayaks, a helicopter and numerous other volunteers.
The search was called off Saturday night when it got dark, but resumed at 8am Sunday.
Police said the missing man's friends and family remained in the area overnight.
