Person dies after motorbike crash in rural Waikato

A person has died after a crash involving two motorbikes in a rural Waikato settlement.

The crash occurred about 12.45pm Saturday on Onagoroto Road/State Highway 30, about 2km west of Tram Road in Kinleith.

Police said a person was critically injured in the crash. Resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful and they died at the scene.

A second person was taken to hospital in a moderate condition.

The serious crash unit was investigating.

The road was closed while emergency services attended, but had now reopened, police said.
