The Director of General Education (DGE) will file a complaint with the State Police Chief and Cyber Cell over the alleged leak of SSLC English and Plus One Mathematics exam question papers on YouTube before the exams, according to a press release from the Kerala Education Minister's office.
For the Plus One and Plus Two Christmas model exams, question papers are crafted through SCERT workshops. Two sets of question papers are prepared, with one being selected and printed in a confidential press located outside the state.
The printed question papers are then transported to 14 district centres, from where school principals collect them.
STREAMLINED QUESTION PAPER PREPARATION FOR CLASSES 1-10
For Classes 8, 9, and 10, the District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs) handle the preparation of question papers. Two sets of papers are created, with one set finalised and sent to the press through Samagra Shiksha Kerala (SSK). Once printed, the question papers are distributed to Block Resource Centres (BRCs) and then forwarded to schools.
For Classes 1 to 7, question papers are prepared during workshops organised by SSK. Two sets are developed, and one is chosen for printing. The printed question papers are subsequently distributed to BRCs and then to schools.
Public examinations are conducted under stringent protocols to ensure fairness and integrity. For the Higher Secondary second-year exams, five sets of question papers are prepared, while four sets are created for the SSLC exams. These question papers are printed at a confidential facility outside the state.
SSLC question papers are dispatched to District Educational Offices (DEOs), whereas Plus Two question papers are delivered directly to the examination centres.
Stringent security measures are enforced at every stage, from the preparation to the distribution of question papers. The Education Minister's office has termed the recent incident as highly serious, assuring that those responsible will be identified and held accountable.
The Department of General Education reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the highest standards in the conduct of examinations and ensuring the safety and integrity of students' academic assessments.
