A police car chase ended in a collision on Thursday evening in Bristol - with officers now hunting for the driver, who fled the scene on foot.

The driver of a silver Mercedes C220 led the police on a pursuit through Henbury yesterday (October 10), before ultimately colliding with another vehicle on Henbury Road, near the Blaise Inn, at around 6.30pm.

The road was briefly closed as emergency services attended to check on the occupants of the other vehicle, who were thankfully unharmed and did not require medical attention.

However, the driver of the Mercedes made off on foot, and has not yet been found, despite a police dog handler and the National Police Air Service helicopter getting involved in a search of the area.

The search is ongoing after officers seized the vehicle and detained a teenage girl who had been a passenger in the Mercedes. She was later taken home.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident to help with their enquiries. If you have any information, please call 101 quoting reference number 5224267789.
