Teens charged with double murder of Bristol boys to stand trial next week

Five adults and four teenagers are facing charges in connection with the deaths of Max Dixon and Mason Rist

Four teenagers and a man are set to stand trial next week charged with the murders of Bristol teens Max Dixon and Mason Rist. Four other adults face charges of assisting an offender, as part of a trial which is due to last for two weeks at Bristol Crown Court and begins on Monday (October 7).

Max Dixon, 16, and Mason Rist, 15, were stabbed in the street outside Mason’s home in Ilminster Avenue, Knowle West, on the evening of Saturday, January 22 this year. Antony Snook, 45, from Hartcliffe, is charged with the two murders, along with four teenagers, who cannot be named for legal reasons as they were all under 18 at the time of the offence.

The four are now aged 15, 16, 17 and 18 - the youngest was just 14 at the time. All four are facing two counts of murder.

Along with the five charged with murder, four other adults are charged with offences of assisting an offender.

Jamie Ogbourne, 26, of Bishport Avenue in Hartcliffe, faces two separate charges of assisting two of the boys charged with murder, between January 26 and 29, while Bailey Westcott, 23, of Vowell Close in Withywood, is charged with the same two counts of assisting an offender.

The two others charged with two counts of assisting an offender are Jillian Tolliver, 49, from Hartcliffe, and Kristian Hooper, 46, from Weston-super-Mare. They are being tried separately from the other seven. A date for their case will be assigned at the conclusion of the main trial.
