Kate Middleton's Christmas regret after last-minute error

by · BristolLive

King Charles is gearing up for a grand Christmas celebration at Sandringham, with 45 royals anticipated to join the festivities. The holiday schedule includes both formal and entertaining events, such as a black-tie dinner on Christmas Eve followed by post-dinner games, and a traditional turkey feast on Christmas Day.

A highlight for Royal enthusiasts is the annual Christmas morning church walk, where the Royal Family meets and greets well-wishers. In recent years, the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, have participated in this tradition alongside other family members.

Four years ago during the walk, it appeared that Kate colour-coordinated the family's outfits, and they all looked very smart in dark green. However, despite the worldwide admiration for their style, Kate later expressed regret over her outfit choice.

She was elegantly dressed in a grey Catherine Walker coat complemented by a green hat, bag, and heels, but she confessed to 19-year-old fan Rachel Anvil that her outfit was not suitable for the day's unseasonably warm weather, admitting she "really shouldn't have worn it".

Rachel's mum told Metro: "Kate was talking to my daughter about clothes and how she was feeling too hot, she said 'I really shouldn't have worn this'. I'm there talking to Charlotte about dolls and my daughter's talking about fashion with Kate. It wasn't fake it was a genuine discussion, it was about a minute but it was tailored to my daughter, it was like speaking to a friend.", reports the Mirror.

A typical Royal Christmas includes the church visit at St Mary Magdalene, greeting those who come to see the family, and a festive lunch featuring turkey and all the traditional trimmings.

Last week, Prince William touched upon the scale of the Royal holiday plans during a gathering, suggesting that he'll be spending Christmas with approximately 45 family members. Last month, the King travelled to Sandringham, where the royals traditionally celebrate the big day, to see how his Norfolk home is being prepared for the big day.

A Royal source noted then: "The King is embracing the Christmas period already and really getting into the spirit. Staff who have seen him this week remarked how happy and healthy he was looking."

In an interview, Camilla's son Tom Parker Bowles confirmed his mum had requested that he and his family also join in with the royal gathering this year. This would mean invitations for Tom and his children Lola and Freddie as well as for Camilla's daughter Laura, her husband Harry and their three kids Eliza, Gus and Louis.

However, the King's estranged son Prince Harry, his wife Meghan Markle and their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are not anticipated to join the grand celebration. A source close to the couple disclosed earlier this month that they will not be returning to the UK for Christmas as they have not been invited to this year's gathering at Sandringham.
