Pedestrian injured after stolen van is involved in 'hit-and-run crash' in Bristol
by Toby Codd · BristolLiveTwo people have been arrested after an alleged hit-and-run crash in Bristol. Avon and Somerset Police was called to Bedminster Down Road at around 11.30am this morning, Wednesday, November 27.
The collision involved an allegedly stolen van and a pedestrian. The pedestrian was rushed to hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
Bedminster Down Road was closed in both directions as emergency services attended the scene. The van was recovered by officers before they carried out enquiries to track down who was driving it.
Police have since confirmed that a woman, 31, and a man, 45, have been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, theft of a motor vehicle and for failing to stop at the scene of a collision. The man was further arrested on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle, possession of a bladed article and being in possession of a suspected Class A drug.
Investigating officers are continuing to appeal for information on the crash. They are urging witnesses or anyone with relevant dash cam footage to come forward.
