Adams says that money collected from the Online Streaming Act is 'going to prop up outdated broadcasting models such as CanCon'
by Cassandra Szklarski · National PostGlobal hitmaker Bryan Adams is adding his voice to opposition over new federal regulations on streaming.
The “Cuts Like a Knife” and “Summer of ’69” singer released a video on social media saying the Online Streaming Act would make it harder for Canadian musicians to break through globally.
Adams says that money from the “tax” is “going to prop up outdated broadcasting models such as CanCon, which were originally built to help Canadian creators.”
